About Ryan Myers
Ryan Myers grew up fishing and diving in Stuart, Florida. After studying Marine Biology at Florida Tech, he began traveling the world in search of untouched reefs and record fish. He spends about 8 months a year traveling to spearfish, train, and compete. Be careful about inviting him to your house because he will come but he may not leave. Ryan competes at the world level and is currently training for his second spearfishing World Championship. He has represented the United States in the last two Pan-American championships with a best finish of 4th place. In the 2016 World Championship in Greece Ryan earned 12th place out of 75 divers. He has attended the last 4 consecutive National Championship events and achieved 1st place individual and 1st place team in 2017. He has maintained a national ranking as the #1 competitive spearfisherman in the United States for the last 4 years. Before competing in spearfishing Ryan competed in international freediving competitions. This deep diving background gives him a serious edge over his opponents. In addition to competing Ryan is a USCG licensed captain, advanced PADI Freedive instructor, International Spearfishing Academy instructor, and a 5 time IUSA world record holder. He is one of the few full time professional spearfishermen in the USA. Ryan currently represents Hecs Aquatic, Florida Freedivers, and Headhunter Spearfishing.
